GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP -- The leader of a church that sought to build an allergen-free worship center feels vindicated by a legal opinion that the township's opposition breached federal law...

"Judge Bosman has done a great deal to help us rebuild our reputation," Cheetham said. "He acknowledged that we were trying to build a special building to cater to people with chemical sensitivity. For us, it's an important part of Christ's mission ... to recognize the special needs of people."

Bosman ruled the proposed building qualifies as a church because people would gather there to worship. The township's opposition obstructs the church's religious freedom, he wrote. "There is no dispute that the members of (the society) are physically unable to attend worship services in
any conventional church," Bosman wrote. "The (township's) action effectively prevents the members...from worshipping at all."

"Radio listeners weary of hearing the same songs over
and over may have something to cheer about:
Broadcasters have tentatively agreed to anti-payola
settlements that could shake up music playlists at

Four major broadcast companies would pay the
government $12.5 million and provide 8,400 half-hour
segments of free airtime for independent record labels

Yes, it's true...been listening to some Green Day lately.
Teaching my guitar students "Wake Me Up When September Ends". I dig.
Teaching American Idiot, Letterbomb, Holiday...

Some unexpected sonic treats.
Green Day's American Idiot album really surprised me with
some of the progressive material, Jesus of Suburbia, in particular.

Good job guys.

John Lennon and Tim Mainka in Ann Arbor, Michigan?

Hey good people.
We are so incredibly interconnected, it's amazing.

I had a great trip to Ann Arbor, MI this past weekend.
I met Herb Davis at Herb Davis Guitar Studio and played some really rare instruments - A lute, a lute guitar, some Nigerian lute-like instrument.
Wow, he has this huge Asian drum and then there's the harp
that looks like it's from ancient Greece.

While talking to Herb, all of sudden, Arlo Guthrie calls up (he was playing at "the Ark" that night). So I look around and saw Eric Clapton's autograph on one of his photos he gave Herb. But the coolest thing was finding and touching the same chair John Lennon sat in 1971.
